Technoloy and its uses in education

1. I believe its different for every teachers style or class room setting. I know that there will be alot of technology that i can use in my class room. On that note i still feel that alot of my work will be getting out in the field and producing a learning environment.

2. I think that the chat can be affective if its mainly an online class cause it a free way the teacher and students can communicate to ask questions that you would normally ask in person. So i do feel like it can be affective in the right class room.

3. I think face to face is good because some students are afraid to ask some questions over the computer or want a response faster and more personal then talking to a box. I would talk to someone face to face rather call or text them. Now the web cam is a great invention!

4. I don't think its a teaching tool, but necessary a way to send out assignments and chat etc. This is another example of a certain class room setting a kids who actually have an ipod.

5. No i do not agree with this at all i think video games are an complete wast of time. Kids need to get off their butts and do something with there lives. This is not open for discussion i will never agree with this type of learning. On the fact of my kids do i have to say anymore than i have all ready stated.

Different Learning Styles

I do feel like this test was halfway accurate I would like to do a study to see if the teacher could predict what kins of kids could interact with each other. I think the teachers can use this as a tool to help with the control and interest of the kids. So the big question is who can see this as not being accurate enough for someone to characterize my own kids?

Excell and spead sheets

I do feel like the excel program can be very help full to me as a teacher. One of the things i liked the most was the making the worksheet. I was able to make a whole class room assignment in less than one hour. It a worksheet that ill be able to take with me, and use every ear when i do start teaching. As for the grade book i don't feel like its a great tool yes it works great, but with today's schools all grades are put into certain programs that they require you use. I also think they will be allot more easy to use than excel. So the final vote i say its a tool that i will use weekly, and i would recommend this to many other teachers.

Inspirations

According to the video and examples for the program Inspirations i was very impressed i feel like this program would be very interacting toward the students. In today's world kid's feel more comfortable with technology than my generation or even my parents generation. I meet kids every day that can use a computer ten times faster than i can. I do believe this program is something i would want my department to utilize, but i would definitely want to have a cause for the program before i purchased it.

1. I do believe you can replace a writing assignment with this program, but i do believe that if kids cant do a simple writing assignment then that's sad on our parts. I believe that employers are eventually going to be looking for people who can write a letter per say then just make a presentation. Although presentation's have there purpose, but there are times when its not appropriate.

2. As we all know times will change as we teach for years. I believe that staying up with new technology's i not just good for you, but its a way for you to relate with students. I still believe that right now were in a technology boom and we have to utilize that opportunity.

3. One of the first times i taught a group was when i was just hanging around my old Ag department some kids asked why plants grow. I started explaining to the kids, and they taught me more of how to relate to them more than plant science. I was able to teach them plant practices and they were able to teach me thing though a life experience. I don't believe any of us are ready to teach and there isn't a class that can prepare you for that you just have to get out there and do the work.

Assn.#3 Blogs in education

I have a optional feeling of how well blogs, or technology is used to teach students in education. On one hand you can relate more to students who are current with today's technology, but on the other hand it can be more of a "time eater" cause we all know how much time we get with students each week. When you teach agriculture there are just somethings you have to teach "hands on", and require hours of repetition. I guess if i had to make a decision on this matter i would say yes to blogs if they are used in the right manner. When teachers set up there blog it needs to be set up in a manner that is completely educational, not recreational. Students should be able to personalize there blog, but the teachers should regulate what is posted, pictures uploaded, and what comments are left to each student's blogs. The blogs should be professional, cause when students have sign on names like "Kinky Girl" or some other derogatory name it just doesn't make the students look professional or the teachers. When dealing with high school students i would personally get a waver singed, and each parent should have access to the blog at all times. I don't feel like this type of technology is a waste of time, but more or less a tool for higher education and analytical thinking.

A little bit about me

Well let's just start this off right ,and begin with a quote i love which was pro founded by one of the greatest educators, inventors ,and politicians in the United States of America. "Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."-- Benjamin Franklin. This man was portrayed as one of four fathers so this quote this makes old Ben one of my greatest ancestors. Past the jokes and good times my name is Kyle Polk i am from Winnsboro,Tx and i am an Agriculture Education Major. After college i plan to start teaching some were in the East Texas Area. I Have one Brother ,and both my parents whom reside in Winnsboro. I grew up in a small town like most of us there wasn't much to do so we found many events. Some were more politically correct than others you could say. I am currently involved with a significant other you could call. Her name is Casey, and she is in my profile pic i do believe she is very hot for my standers. Like i said past all the jokes I'm just another good ole boy just trying to get that education.
